Ear piercing - inflammation, help?

No matter what, your piercing area will experience irritation and redness. You have to remember that this is a little metal stick that has been forced through your ear. Basically, an ear piercing is a "boo boo" that never heals, thats why you can't take your earrings out for a while, so the piercing does not heal. Inflammation is just another side-effect. As for the cream, once again, it is an open wound in your body, it will sting when you apply medicine. Your body does not want a foreign object in it, so it will "rebel" so to speak against the ear piercings. There is no need to be alarmed, just wait it out. If it gets worse see a doctor but at the moment it's just a regular thing that most everyone has to deal with when getting your ears pierced. :)
